The Callaway County Commission met with the Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann and Eastern District Commissioner Randy Kleindienst present. Western District Commissioner Donald Kritzer was absent.
Western District Commissioner Doc Kritzer attended a CCAM (County Commissioners Association of Missouri) conference all day in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Road & Bridge Phone Issues
Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann met with Charter representatives at the new Road & Bridge building to discuss phone issues.
Open Bid #14 (Salt)
The Callaway County Commission met with Paul Winkelmann, County Road & Bridge Engineer, to open Bid #14 (Salt).
There were four bids received. Each vendor bid on 540 tons of salt.
The first bid was from Gunther Salt Company, which submitted a ‘No Bid’. The second bid was from Cargill Salt, which also submitted a ‘No Bid’. The third bid was from Central Salt, which submitted a ‘No Bid’. The fourth bid was from North American Salt in the amount of $107.92 per ton.
Mr. Winkelmann stated that something must be going on with salt supplies, since three out of the four bidders did not submit a price. He claimed he will make some phone calls to try to figure out what is going on. He also mentioned that the County may be able to use the State’s salt contract. This meeting was tabled and the group will meet again at a later date to discuss this further.
Ordered that, he Commission adjourn until Thursday, July 31, 2014.
