The Callaway County Commission met with the Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann and Eastern District Commissioner Randy Kleindienst present. Western District Commissioner Donald Kritzer was absent.
New Term of Court
The Callaway County Commission met with Paul Winkelmann, County Road & Bridge Engineer, to discuss the New Term of Court.
Mr. Winkelmann began by informing the Commission that there are currently no new road petitions or road vacations and there is no additional information regarding the progress of the Hunter’s Creek NID (Neighborhood Improvement District).
Next, Mr. Winkelmann stated that the BRO over Middle River on County Road 435 has been completed and we are waiting on a final inspection by MoDOT.
Mr. Winkelmann then mentioned that the overlay on County Roads 304 and 305 are complete and we should soon receive the final invoice. This project was underrun by approximately $9,000.00. Mr. Winkelmann also stated that the roads that have been chosen for chip seal treatment have been prepped and are ready to be chip sealed this summer. Also, we should receive the contracts for the INVEA road surface treatment, which will be utilized in the Millersburg area, later this week.
The Commission was then informed that the new Road & Bridge building is moving along. The plumber and electrician are working on their final installations today. Mr. Winkelmann stated that they are hauling dirt for the back of the building.
Mr. Winkelmann notified the Commission that the work for the waterline relocation of County Road 256 has not yet been done. He also told the Commission that the dust control spraying is complete.
Next, Mr. Winkelmann informed the Commission that SKW is working on the preliminary plans for the BRO over Hillers Creek. Legal descriptions for easements have been prepared and should get approval shortly to acquire easements from MoDOT.
Mr. Winkelmann also stated that a slotted drain has been installed on County Road 4025 and pipes have been installed on County Road 220/223 over Crooked Creek. He said that they are working on the finishing touches for this Crooked Creek project.
Mr. Winkelmann mentioned that the annual report for the Phase II stormwater permit is due by July 28, 2014.
Also mentioned was the salt bids, which are due to be opened on July 30, 2014 at 11:00am.
Next, Mr. Winkelmann notified the Commission that the Purple Wave government auction will take place on August 5, 2014.
Mr. Winkelmann stated that they received the new dump truck several weeks ago, but are waiting on Knapheide to install the bed. Also, the Lowboy Trailer has been ordered.
Finally, Mr. Winkelmann added that all of the tractors are out mowing and that concrete will be poured at the new Road & Bridge building for handicapped parking.
County Clerk Fees Filed
Now on this day comes Denise Hubbard, County Clerk, and files her report of fees collected by her office for the month of June, 2014. Said report was examined and ordered filed by the Clerk of the Commission.
Ordered that the Commission adjourn until Tuesday, July 8, 2014.
