9:00am The Callaway County Commission will meet to discuss the 2017 mowing rates, amend the PHEP (Public Health Emergency Prep) contract, and annexing Halifax road to the City of Holts Summit.

The Callaway County Commission met with the Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann, Eastern District Commissioner Randy Kleindienst, and Western District Commissioner Roger Fischer present.

 

Business of a general nature was conducted on this day.

 

Chamber Meeting

Presiding Commissioner Jungermann attended a meeting at the Callaway County Chamber office in Fulton, Missouri.

 

PHEP Contract, Cemetery Mowing Rates, Halifax Road

The Callaway County Commission met with Paul Winkelmann, County Road and Bridge Engineer, and Debbie Zerr, County Treasurer, to discuss the PHEP (Public Health Emergency Prep) contract, the 2017 cemetery mowing rates, and annexing Halifax road to the City of Holts Summit. Presiding Commissioner Jungermann was absent for this meeting. Deb Goldman was present representing the County Clerk’s Office.

 

On March 10, 2017 the Commission signed court order #25 entering into a PHEP (Public Health Emergency Prep) contract in the amount of $30,832. That court order needs to be amended. The County is not entering into a new contract but amending the current contract. An additional $2236 has been given to the County bringing the total amount for the contract to $30,832.

 

Western District Commissioner Fischer made a motion to amend the PHEP (Public Health Emergency Prep) contract to increase the contract amount by $2,236 making the total amount of the contract $30,832 effective until June 30, 2017.

Eastern District Commissioner Kleindienst seconded the motion.

 

All in favor… ayes have it. Motion carries. Court order #37 signed.

 

Court Order #37- Amendment to Court Order #25

 

Now on this day, the Callaway County Commission does hereby amend Court Order #25, dated March 10, 2017, to reflect the following:

 

Now on this day, the Callaway County Commission does hereby amend the PHEP (Public Health Emergency Prep) contract to increase the contract amount by $2,236 making the total amount of the contract $30,832 effective until June 30, 2017.

 

Mrs. Zerr needs to get the 2017 mowing rates approved. The mowing rates and the mowers are the same as last year.

 

Western District Commissioner Fischer made a motion to approve the 2017 cemetery mowing schedule as provided by the Callaway County Treasurer.

Eastern District Commissioner Kleindienst seconded the motion.

 

All in favor… ayes have it. Motion carries. Court Order #38 signed.

 

Court Order #38- 2017 Cemetery Mowing Schedule

 

Now on this day, the Callaway County Commission does hereby approve the 2017 cemetery mowing schedule as provided by the Callaway County Treasurer.

 

Presiding Commissioner Jungermann joined the meeting.

 

The City of Holts Summit is considering taking over Halifax road from the City limits to Highland subdivision and the rest of County road 4036 down to the Smoke Shop. They would like the County to give them some money for maintenance of the road over a three to five-year period.

 

Mr. Winkelmann said to chip seal the road would cost between $15,000- $16,000. The County will reap some benefit from the City of Holts Summit taking the road. Eastern District Commissioner Kleindienst would like to give them $15,000.

Western District Commissioner Fischer would like to give them $20,000.

 

Western District Commissioner Fischer made a motion to annex Halifax road and piece of County road 4036 to the City of Holts Summit and give them $17,500 for maintenance.

 

Eastern District Commissioner Kleindienst seconded the motion.

 

Presiding Commissioner Jungermann would like to see the money distributed over the next one to two years. The Callaway County Commission is going to present this offer to the City of Holts Summit and see if they decide to accept.

 

All in favor… ayes have it. Motion carries.
