11:00am The Callaway County Commission will meet to discuss Bid #10 (rock) and the disposal of county property.
3:00pm The Callaway County Commission will meet with Leah Laramore, County Human Resources Director, to discuss a personnel issue.  This meeting may possibly be closed session per RSMo 610.021.3.

Monday, March 6, 2017

 

The Callaway County Commission met with the Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann and Eastern District Commissioner Randy Kleindienst, and Western District Commissioner Roger Fischer present.

 

Business of a general nature was conducted on this day.

 

Minutes Approved

 

10:00am

The Callaway County Commission met to approve meeting minutes.

 

Eastern District Commissioner Kleindienst made a motion to approve the minutes dated January 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 30, and 31, February 1, 2, 3, and 6, 2017.

 

Western District Commissioner Fischer seconded the motion.

 

All in favor…ayes have it.

 

Bid #10 (Rock)

11:00am

The Callaway County Commission met with Paul Winkelmann, County Road and Bridge Engineer, to discuss bid #10 (rock). No one from the County Clerk’s office was present.

 

Bid #10 was opened on March 2, 2017, the only people that saw the contents of the bids were Mr. Winkelmann and the Commission. The Commission recognized several concerns pertaining to theses bids including these examples: John Klick Trucking cannot always provide the type of rock or the quantity needed, County Line Quarry is not in a good location for a lot of the County roads and they don’t always have the type of rock needed, and Capital Quarry is also not in the best location and cannot always supply the quantity of rock needed.

 

Eastern District Commissioner Kleindienst made a motion to reject all rock bids opened March 2, 2017, and rebid rock to be opened on March 13, 2017 at 11:00am because of travel time, availability of rock type, and quantity of rock needed.

 

Western District Commissioner Fischer seconded the motion.

 

All in favor… ayes have it. Motion passed.

 

Surplus Property

11:20am

The Callaway County Commission met to discuss the disposal of surplus property. Denise Hubbard was present representing the County Clerk’s office.

 

The Callaway County Health Department has three file cabinets they want to dispose of. The County Recorder’s office has two Cisnet mini computers they want to dispose of.

 

The Commission are going to hold off on disposing of these items until they have a chance to look at the file cabinets the Health Department wants to get rid of.

 

Personnel Issue

3:30p.m.

 

The Callaway County Commission met with Leah Laramore, HR Director, to discuss the possibility of shared leave. Denise Hubbard was present representing the County Clerk’s Office.

 

Eastern District Commissioner Kleindienst made a motion to enter into a closed session per RSMo 610.021.3.

 

Western District Commissioner Fischer seconded.

Closed Session

 

Eastern District Commissioner Kleindienst made a motion to go back into open session.

 

Western District Commissioner Fischer seconded the motion.

Eastern District Commissioner Kleindienst made a motion to approve shared leave for an employee that has met the criteria.

 

Western District Commissioner Fischer seconded.
