The Callaway County Commission met with the Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann, Eastern District Commissioner Randy Kleindienst, and Western District Commissioner Donald Kritzer present.
Business of a general nature was conducted on this day.
Deborah Goldman was present representing the County Clerk’s Office. Presiding Commissioner Jungermann started off the meeting stating that the purpose of the meeting is to discuss payroll changes. These changes will be to take monthly payroll and move to bi-weekly payroll like Law Enforcement and Dispatch. This change will affect about half of the employees, but will make things easier for payroll.
Western District Commissioner Kritzer moves to streamline the payroll process and go to every two week payroll cycle effective March 2017.
Eastern District Commissioner Kleindienst seconded the motion. He then stated that he personally doesn’t coincide with the findings to make payroll easier for 1 or 2 people when it is going to put stress on lots of employees. Presiding Commissioner Jungermann said he agrees that people are accustomed to monthly payroll, but he thinks everyone who has worked for the county probably had a hard time adjusting to monthly payroll at first too. He doesn’t want it to hurt anyone, just wants to streamline the process. He hopes it isn’t detrimental to the employees.
All in favor… Western District Commissioner Kritzer, aye; Presiding Commissioner Jungermann, aye; Eastern District Commissioner Kleindienst, nay.
Motion carries. Meeting adjourned.
Ordered that the Commission adjourn until Wednesday, November 16, 2016.
