The Callaway County Commission met with the Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann and Eastern District Commissioner Randy Kleindienst present. Western District Commissioner Donald Kritzer absent.

 

Award Bid #19 (Tractor Mounted Shredder)

The Callaway County Commission met to discuss Bid #19 (Tractor Mounted Shredder) and to discuss RFPs for the Callaway County Jail’s electronic security system. Deborah Goldman was also present for this meeting to represent the County Clerk’s office.

 

Firs, the Commission discussed Bid #19. Paul Winkelmann, County Road & Bridge Engineer, was present for this discussion.  Mr. Winkelmann explained that this type of equipment is used to break up windows, high shoulders, patching projects, and many other uses.  The group agreed that a tractor mounted shredder would be beneficial to the Road & Bridge Department.

 

One bid was received for Bid #19 (Tractor Mounted Shredder) from Victor L. Phillips Co. in the amount of $57,800.  Mr. Winkelmann stated that he researched pricing on this type of machinery and believes that this bid price is fair.

 

Eastern District Commissioner Randy Kleindienst made a motion to award Bid #19 (Tractor Mounted Shredder) to Victor L. Phillips Co. in the amount of $57,800 and to authorize Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann to sign any necessary documentation on behalf of the County.

 

Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann seconded the motion.

 

All in favor…ayes have it. Court Order #78 – signed.

 

Court Order #78 – Award Bid #19

 

Now on this day, the Callaway County Commission does hereby award Bid #19 (Tractor Mounted Shredder) to Victor L. Phillips Co. in the amount of $57,800 and to authorize Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann to sign any necessary documentation on behalf of the County.

 

RFQ’s for Jail Security System

 

Next, the Commission discussed RFQs (Request for Qualifications) for the Callaway County Jail’s electronic security system.  Two RFQs were received.  The first was from Accurate Controls and the Second was from ADI.  Commissioner Jungermann stated that Accurate Controls sent in a detailed portfolio to serve as their qualifications, while ADI simply sent a one page letter stating their interest in working with Callaway County.

 

At this point in the planning process for the security system, the Commission is only choosing to begin communicating with a vendor to create a plan of action; no contracts or monetary negotiation are required at this time.

 

Eastern District Commissioner Randy Kleindienst made a motion to authorize Accurate Controls Corp. To begin working on a plan for the Callaway County Jail’s electronic security system.

 

Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann seconded the motion.

 

All in favor…ayes have it.
