 The Callaway County Commission met with the Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann, Eastern District Commissioner Randy Kleindienst, and Western District Commissioner Donald Kritzer present.

Sewer Variance

 8:30am

The Callaway County Commission met to discuss a sewer variance, a Breastfeeding Friendly Worksite Program, and a MOU with the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services. Western District Commissioner Doc Kritzer was not present for this meeting. Deborah Goldman was present for this meeting to represent the County Clerk’s office.

First, the Commission discussed a sewer variance for Sam Kepner. Kent Wood, County Environmental Public Health, was present for this discussion. Mr. Wood explained that Mr. Kepner, owner of property 9937 County Road 367 in New Bloomfield, is in a nursing home and wants to sell his home. Before he can sell, he must add a wastewater lagoon to the property to bring it up to code. To construct the lagoon, he needs the approval of a 50-foot variance along his southern property line.

Eastern District Commissioner Randy Kleindienst made a motion to approve the 50-foot sewer variance for Sam Kepner, owner of property 9937 County Road 367 in New Bloomfield, for the construction of a wastewater lagoon to bring this property into compliance with Callaway County Ordinance 701.

Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann seconded the motion.

All in favor…ayes have it. Court Order #92 — signed.

 Court Order #92 — Sewer Variance for Sam Kepner

 Now on this day, the Callaway County Commission does hereby approve the sewer variance for Sam Kepner, owner of property 9937 County Road 367 in New Bloomfield, Missouri.

The recommendation of a 50-foot variance along the southern property line for the construction of a wastewater lagoon will bring this property with Callaway County Ordinance 701.

 Breastfeeding Friendly Worksite Program

 Next, the Commission discussed a Breastfeeding Friendly Worksite program. Sharon Lynch, County Health Department Administrator, was present for this discussion.

Mrs. Lynch explained that the Department of Health & Senior Services will reimburse the Callaway County Health Department $3,000 for the time and resources spent on outreach to local businesses in regards to becoming a Breastfeeding Friendly Worksite. If the money is accepted, the Health Department must contact at least five businesses regarding the program. Mrs. Lynch stated that this is something the Health Department does anyway. The funds will go toward the salaries for the two Breastfeeding Peer Counselors at the Health Department.

Eastern District Commissioner Randy Kleindienst made a motion to accept the reimbursement from the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services in the amount of $3,000 for time and resources spent on outreach in the community regarding the Breastfeeding Friendly Worksite program. Commissioner Kleindienst also moved to authorize Sharon Lynch, County Health Department Administrator, to sign the necessary documentation on behalf of the County.

 Court Order #93 — Breastfeeding Friendly Worksite Program

 Now on this day, the Callaway County Commission does hereby accept the reimbursement from the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services in the amount of $3,000 for time and resources spent on outreach in the community regarding the Breastfeeding Friendly Worksite program. The Callaway County Commission does also hereby authorize Sharon Lynch, County Health Department Administrator, to sign the necessary documentation on behalf of the County.

 MOU with DHSS

 Finally, the Commission and Mrs. Lynch discussed a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services. Mrs. Lynch explained that Callaway County approves this MOU every year to allow the Callaway County Health Department access to the Missouri State Data Center for birth and death certificate information.

Eastern District Commissioner Randy Kleindienst made a motion to accept the MOU with the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services to facilitate access to the Missouri State Data Center for birth and death certificate information, effective September 1, 2016 through August 31, 2017. Commissioner Kleindienst also moved to authorize Sharon Lynch, County Health Department Administrator, to sign the MOU on behalf of the County.

Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann seconded the motion.

 Court Order #94 — MOU with DHSS

 Now on this day, the Callaway County Commission does hereby enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Health & Senior Services to facilitate access to the Missouri State Data Center, which offers birth and death certificate information, effective September 1, 2016 through August 31, 2017. The Callaway County Commission also hereby authorizes County Health Department Administrator Sharon Lynch to sign the Memorandum on behalf of the County.

 Callaway County Employee Health Fair

 11:00am — 2:00pm

The Callaway County Commission attended the Callaway County Employee Health Fair at the Callaway County Health Department.

 Vendor Checks Issued

 Vendor checks were issued in the amount of $135,368.61.
