The Callaway County Commission met with the Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann and Eastern District Commissioner Randy Kleindienst present. Western District Commissioner Donald Kritzer was absent and will be absent for the next three to four weeks for medical reasons.
2017 LLEBG Application
The Callaway County Commission met with Clay Chism, County Chief Investigator, to discuss a 2017 LLEBG (Local Law Enforcement Block Grant) application. Deborah Goldman was also present for this meeting to represent the County Clerk’s office.
Mr. Chism began by explaining that the LLEBG is a grant that he applies for annually for the Callaway County Sheriff’s Department. The grant is used to pay for safety equipment. This year, Mr. Chism has requested funds to pay for three sets of partitions for new vehicles, four sets of siren controls boxes and speakers for new vehicles, and one set of emergency lighting equipment. This safety equipment will cost approximately $7,319.00.
Eastern District Commissioner Randy Kleindienst made a motion to authorize County Chief Investigator Clay Chism to apply for the 2017 LLEBG (Local Law Enforcement Block Grant) in the amount of $7,319.00 and to authorize Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann to digitally sign the application on behalf of the County.
Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann seconded the motion.

Ordered that the Commission adjourn until Tuesday, August 30, 2016.
