EOC/911 Issues

3:15pm

The Callaway County Commission met with Michelle Kidwell, County Emergency Management

Director, to discuss E0C/911 issues. Deborah Goldman was also present for this meeting to

represent the County Clerk’s office.

First, Commissioner Jungermann explained that Ms. Kidwell has received a new quote on the Smart 911 program with Rave Mobile Safety. The new quote will save the County $5,000 in initial startup costs. Ms. Kidwell informed the Commission that she believes this program would be an asset to all local agencies and to the deaf community, among others. She also mentioned that the Rave Alert portion of this program has the capability of tying into the County’s existing

emergency notification system; this would allow users to sign up for both programs at one time.

Western District Commissioner Doc Kritzer made a motion to enter into an agreement with Rave Mobile Safety for a Smart 911 program, effective June 15, 2016 through June 14, 2019, in the amount of $17,500 for the first year, $15,000 for the second year, and $15,000 for the third year, to be paid out of the EOC fund. Commissioner Kritzer also moved to authorize Presiding Commissioner Gary Jungermann and Emergency Management Director Michelle Kidwell to sign the agreement on behalf of the County.

Eastern District Commissioner Randy Kleindienst seconded the motion.

All in favor…ayes have it. Court Order #63 — signed.

Finally, the group briefly discussed the PSAP system at EOC. The County is currently working on an RFP for a new system.
